My first task was quite the experience. At the age of sixteen, my parents decided that it was time for me to get a task outside the apartment in order to prepare me physically & financially for school. I readily agreed since I had been wanting to start toiling anyways. I applied at multiple unusual venues, & multiple of them accepted my applications. I chose to work at a local eating establishment simply because they paid the most. It was really an superb experience. I started toiling in January, & I didn’t really have any troubles or complaints. It wasn’t until June that my co-workers & I noticed a complication with the temperature control. It was June, so the weather was pretty warm, & the study room was simply getting too hot. My acquaintance & I both tried to turn down the temperature control, but it did nothing. The temperature reMEd the same. We asked another co-worker to check it out because my associate and I knew he had some experience with HVAC. He couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but he was able to call our manager, & she came over to check it out, by the time she got there, it felt like an oven in the study room. Our manager was appalled by how unbearably overheated it was in the study room, and she had an HVAC business at the shop within one hour. Thankfully, the HVAC business was able replace the temperature control & repair the problem, but our manager apologized for the trouble my associate and I decided to go through & promised it would never happen again. I will never forget that first June at the eating establishment & just how overheated it was.
