From as long as I can remember, my Mom would bring my brother and I over to my Grandma’s cabin for a quick visit.
My friend and I didn’t stay too long, because he liked to go to sleep truly early.
I remember the popcorn he would deliver us, and the games my good friend and I would play. Another thing I remember is how he constantly had the heat running in their house, no matter the time of year. My brother and I constantly looked at each other thinking the same thing- “how is he cold right now?!”, he constantly had to have the heater running in the house. I did not understand why it was constantly so moderate in his cabin until my Mom told me that most older people are usually colder than young people, but from that day, I constantly assumed that old people were just cold, then when he was living in an assisted living facility, he constantly had the heat running. This was something that I never understood, because even in the middle of the summer, he would have the heater blasting. I didn’t know if I should ask his about it because he constantly seemed comfortable. I remember one time my good friend and I left the assisted living facility and my good friend and I were all perspiring. My friend and I had to go house and take a shower! My Grandma passed away recently however I am cheerful that he was comfortable towards the end of his life. She was a truly nice man, and was constantly cheerful, even if he smoked us out of his cabin every time!
