Ted Mavric is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He owns a large portion of land up North, and he opens his land for winter camp each year. Ted even used his own finances to build twenty different cabins throughout his property for the campers to stay in. My family and I go to winter camp each year. It truly is a blast! There’s games, skiing, sledding, ice skating, and delicious home cooked meals. Ted works very hard and does his best to prepare his land each year for all the campers that come to enjoy their winter getaway. This past year, he added a new ice skating rink and a beautiful new mess hall. The first few days of camp came and went with no problems and lots of fun. It wasn’t until Thursday that we ran into some issues. The cooks woke up one morning to find the brand new mess hall without any heat. My husband is an HVAC technician, and he offered to take a look at the furnace. After his examination, he asked if the furnace was a new one, and Ted told him that it wasn’t but that they had purchased a used one from an old friend. Unfortunately, the furnace was not in as good of shape as the previous own had ensured, and a new one needed to be purchased. Everyone knew that Ted had already spent so much of his own time and money on the camp, so we decided to take up a collection in order to purchase a new furnace. When all was said and done, the mess hall had a brand new furnace, and the campers were able to show Ted just how much we appreciate him.
